Rising sea temperature in Sfakia and Crete - 18 May, 2020

Due to the extremely hot air masses transported to our country from the southwest for the season, the southern seas, as reported by meteo.gr , have been heated to levels up to 6 degrees higher than the normal levels of the last 12 years. This is reflected in the map above, which shows the deviation of the surface temperature of the sea in relation to its normal values for the season.

The sea temperature today in Sfakia was 24° C, instead of the usual 18° C.
