Last Sfakia Report (until October)

by Jean » 10 May 2019, 20:50

Friday was another lovely day, hot in the sun but much cooler in the shade and breeze than one would expect this time of year.

We leave tomorrow morning. My wish is that other people who come to Sfakia will post reports of news, developments, events, adventures, scenery, and anything else that will help those of us far away keep connected to this wonderful place. We have been enjoying Roland’s postings on the Walks and Hikes forum this week about his super-human treks off-piste in the mountains. There are plans to remove a large underwater boulder near the end of the old harbour – a photo of that process would be impressive. And even just hearing when the sun beds and umbrellas are set out on Vrisi beach would be welcome, since the beach camera still hasn’t been fixed.

We hope that those of you who are coming to Sfakia over the summer will have as wonderful a holiday as we have enjoyed over the past seven weeks.

BIG, BIG "thanks" Jean for all the time you've devoted to putting together your reports.
They are quite amazing and impressive.
Hope you have a good trip home and that you both enjoy good health and lots of happiness during the European summer.
Looking forward with impatience to your reports in October.
Again, BIG, BIG thanks.

It was a pleasure to see reporter Jean's daily bulletins and great photos.
After hard walkings she still was motivated to show us details and events of our Sfakia and surroundings.
Now we have to survive without all this.

Many thanks Jean !
