Hello friends of the Forum,

We arrived to Chania on tuesday the 13th of October, after 3 days in Georgioupoli we drove down to Chora Sfakion. The weather is lovely and very warm. Today 30 degrees Celius , and a bit of little rain this morning. Nighttemperature 18 as coldest. It is nice to be back.

We stopped of att Thea (Fea) cafe on the way down and they had refurbished, and it looked very nice.
Next we saw that the old closed bacery oposite the policestation had been bought by the family Dourountakis and fixed up and will be opening shortly.
And the hotel Panorama is getting closer to be completed, and will be opening next year. It looks very nice.
The new hotel Wiltrud wrote about next to the church we do not know how they built it there, very cramped.
The boat Delfinis old charming sign the had for every boat trip 10:15, 12:45 etc is gone. Now they have a red electric sign in the window showing all the information.

It is more lively in the village than we had expected. The restaurants are glad that aug, sept and oct have been good months, after the lockdown april, may and june. We are pleased for them. Some of the restaurants have no extra staff for example Ombrosgialis, so it is only the family who work there.
Adonis from Lefka Ori is not here this year, he finished by his own request to work in a aliminium company, but it seems like he will return for the new season 2021.

Hello Jean and Annelie,

Thanks both of you for your good wishes on our stay. We met Birgitta today at restaurang Delfinit who is heading for Agioa Roumeli tomorrow. It was very nice to speak to her, we also are in the same Greek Facebook group in swedish. We have never met before.

We will gladly send more observations and photoes as we would love to get, if we were home.

Here is the next observation coming from Sfakia.







While driving to Frangokastello we saw olivpichers were working.



The toilets are now fixed where the buses are parking to Chania.





The restaurant Nikita in Frangokastello looked like it has closed permanently as the signs were taken away. The forte are under restauration. It was closed to the public, and had scaffolding on one sida.

For those who dont know, Αντικριστό "Andikristó" refers to cooking meats etc 'facing the heat' i.e. not over it.

It helps if you put the emphasis on the last syllable of the word so that no one will get confused with Aντίχριστος "Andíchristos" = 'Antichrist', which has the emphasis on the second syllable.
