Flower report from Patsianos to Kolokasia path

by Jean » 12 Apr 2019, 05:56

We didn’t find any unusual flowers on the path, but the small ones are interesting to look at close up. Apart from those pictured below, there were also purple thistles, lots of field marigold, yellow asphodel, plus a couple of serapias orchids.

ophrys (? a spider orchid)

tiny Solenopsis minuta (not a good photo)

orange and blue pimpernel (Anagallis arvensis)

tiny rayless chamomile (Anthemis rigida)

lots of what we think are white and pink-tinted ranunculus (Ranunculus asiaticus), which resemble anemones

a few poppies

sweet-scented round clumps of spiny spurge (Euphorbia acanthothammos)
