This time, the women of Agios Ioannis. Pashley remarked on the beauty of a young woman from that village (R. Pashley: Travels in Crete, 1837).
The first picture shows Ioanna and Popi fetching water. In the second the young girls (Despina, Evangelia, Georgia, Evangelia and Krisoula) are posing with the White Mountains in the background. The picture was taken on Clean Monday (Kathará Deftéra) in March 1979. In the third picture Erasmia is harvesting olives, and the last shows Sofia spinning.
