Little gorge name

by agonigrami » 31 Dec 2017, 23:45

Hi everybody and happy new year,

A couple of years ago, my wife and I decided to walk up the little gorge (more a ravine to be honest), that starts at the very beginning of the larger Iligas gorge, below the kalderimi to Anopoli,

heading roughly west and ending at one of the many u-turns of the road to Kambia. Do you know the name of that ravine, if it has a name at all?

Cheers,
Alf

Hi Alf,
I assume that it is called "Anopolis gorge". I have never heard anything else.
All the best for the new year 2018!

I assume since this small side-ravine doesn't lead anywhere that it has no name, but you need to ask a local shepherd.

It is the ancient (Roman) footpath to Anopoli, so it is probably called μονοπατι στην Ανωπολης, path to Anopoli. It is indeed not a gorge.

After 195 metres the ravine bottom path (1) joins (3) the kalderimi (2) to Anopoli.
