Problems expected at Chania airport due to expansion work - 14 January, 2016
First flights of the season need longer check-in time
The developments of the project of expansion of the terminal building of Chania airport will significantly reduce the service areas and free movement of passengers until the end of March 2016," says the airport manager of "Daskalogiannis" airport in Chania, Maria Lampathakis, stressing that passengers on flights departing from Chania Airport should be particularly careful during their stay in the terminal building.
"Passengers are advised to be at the terminal at least one and a half hours (1h30') before the time of departure and to move as quickly as possible to the cabin baggage and passenger control points (X-ray), especially during the first early flights of the season.
Airlines will publish the terms of tickets and boarding cards and the closing times of the check-in desks and departure gates.
"Because of boarding after successful completion of the security check can take a long time, those who come late are likely to delay their flight at the security checkpoints (X-ray), and lose their flight".
