When are you coming to Crete (again) in 2018?

Dear Crete-lovers,

The 2017 season is slowly coming to an end.

This year had a flying start around Easter, a very busy May and June, and a very good end. The bad summer in West Europe caused a jump in last minute bookings, so September was the most busy month in Sfakia for ages, like last year. Until mid October most rooms were full.

Expectations for 2018 are high again. Several people have already made plans for the new season, and for the first time we got reservations for the new season already from last August.

In 2018 Western Easter Sunday is on the 1th of April. So the next season will start 2 weeks more early than this year. Around the 20th of March, 2018 most accommodations will open.

We are curious to know from you what your plans are for 2018, so please let us know here.

After an absence of too many years, I am hoping to get to Sfakia again in 2018. The thing is, I have a certain birthday coming up, but it is in December. Now, I've been to Crete in the winter months (Zakros, Kokkinos Pirgos, and Paleochora) ... they're no good ... it needs to be Sfakia. Erno ...help!

Hi Nick,

Good news that you finally will return to Sfakia! It is very well possible to visit in December, as long as you make a reservation in advance. Most hotels will be closed, but some can open up a room for you. At least in Chora Sfakion there are several options, and 2 restaurants will be open too. For the weather... well, of course you have to be lucky, as you probably know. It can be 25 degrees with full sun, but it also can be very cold, with rain and wind. If you have specific questions, please just let us know.

Coming to Sfakia and Anopoli in april

1st-11th May, just working out our route!

So far start in Omalos, summit gingilos day one, then to Sougia via Linoseli and Achlada, day after along the coast to Agia Roumeli, then I'm thinking up Eligas gorge via Kormoκοποσ to Agios Ioannis... that's 4 days walking, just need to work out the rest!

Just booked flights for 2 weeks August/September, accommodation being negotiated. This is our usual time, been coming for 6 years now - with one break in Brittany (it rained!). Bringing my father for the first time - sure he will love it. Probably a week in Hora Sfakion, then a week oop north near Almyrida.
