After arriving late to Chania airport on Saturday we spend the first night at Pazinos Village Studio, only 3 km from the airport. A place we can recommend.
We arrived in Chora Sfakion on Sunday evening after a leisurely lunch at Taverna Drosia in Imbros with Nikos and Joanna with family.
We are staying at Lefka Ori and the new chef has arrived and is busy preparing in the kitchen and Georgio told us yesterday that they are planning to open the restaurant in a couple of days.
Yesterday we drove to The Omelos Plateau and there were no tulips visible. Then we drove to the entrance of The Samaria Gorge. Fantastic view and atmosphere up there and it was unbelievable 21 degrees. It was three bus loads with school classes at the entrance as well.
We have been told that The Samaria Gorge will not be opening until middle of June because of the hard winter the have had this year.
On the way home to Sfakia we drove through The Theriso Gorge for 6 km - it was quite impressive.
While we were in the area, we visited the house where Eleftherios Venizelos was born in Mournes.
Today when we had lunch at Anette & Georgio at Komitades - Anette told us that the tulips may not be in flower at all this year because of the severe winter.
