OXI- day

by Marie and Andrew » 29 Oct 2021, 14:04

Yesterday OXI-day was celebrated in the village with the usual procession from the village church up to the memorial place. The morning was very warm 20 degrees and sunny but quite windy. It was so nice to be part of it again, which for us last time was in georgioupoli 2017.

After the ceremony we drove up to Imbros to Taverna Drosia for lunch and it was only 12 degrees there and homely rain, so 8 degrees colder up there. The fire was very welcoming as we had our nice lunch - really good home cooked food and can highly be recommended. The taverna has been taken over by a young couple from the same family Manousos and Joanna.

Bye for now
