The supply of vaccines to the hospitals of Crete has started - 3 January, 2021
With the vehicles of the Pharmacists' Association of Crete and the Islands, accompanied by police patrols, the first vaccines against the coronavirus were transported shortly after 10 in the morning today to the University Hospital of Heraklion.
The whole process was supervised by the administration of the 7th Health District of Crete.
Then, around 12 noon, the first vaccines arrived at Chania Hospital.
As it became known, for administrative reasons, the first vaccinations will start at 8 AM on Monday at PAGNI [Πανεπιστημιακό Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Ηρακλείου, University General Hospital of Heraklion] and Chania Hospital, which are also Covid-19 Reference Hospitals.
Doctors and nurses from the Intensive Care Units and the Covid clinics will be the first to be vaccinated.
Then and until next Friday, the vaccinations are expected to start in the other hospitals and health units of the island.
It is recalled that the first batch of vaccines available for Crete concerns about 10,000 doses.
