I arrived last Saturday in Sfakia. Flight to Heraklion was full, QR Codes had to be shown, but no tests as far I could notice.
First afternoon at Illingas. That beach becomes more and more popular, especially on weekends
There is an outside sitting area now, a beach bar since last year, and now you can rent a luxury sunbed for relaxing.

Fantastic! It is true, Me and my husband was looking at the webcam during lunch today, and suddenly a familiar person appered on the screen! It looked like you! I am very pleased to know that you are well and back in Sfakia! We still hope to come in late October.

The two last nights we had wonderful sights of Hylocereus undatus, also called with one of the popular names Queen of the Night. Two days ago there were 6 and last night even 10 open flowers. Sadly the flowering is gone in the morning.

Now there is a new fortress in Sfakia. It is called Xenia. Already last year they started the new panelling. One can't miss it after nightfall!

Yesterday an Alphorn player gave us a performance with an instrument you would rather expect to hear in the Swiss Alps. It's Klaus from Esslingen in Germany. The instrument is 3,68 meter long, can be telescopes, is of carbon. So it is easy to be carried along.

There is a new construction site in the village. Last year we could not imagine something would fit in there. The rooms/apartments will be finished next year. The rear entrance happens to be in the lower part of the cemetery. A drivable gravel road leads into it from the courtyard of the bakery (platia). The rooms have sea view to the south. The main entrance is from the bottom end of the little lane which leads up to the Notos, just around the Stavris Hotels.

Thanks - very interesting to see this new hotel. It is difficult to imagine the footprint of the building without drone footage! At least the style is generally in keeping with the village.

Thanks a lot for the updates of the village. Nice for you to be back. Do you know it panorama hotel has opened yet after the refurbishment? The beautiful flower you showed is the one which Jean showed to us behind the hotel/restaurant Lefka Ori.
