Inflatable boat found on secluded beach - Information on suspicious boats sailing off Gavdos
The Sfakia Port Authority was put on alert today when an abandoned inflatable boat was found on Fylaki beach, which is secluded but close to Chora Sfakion town.
According to information, it is considered that it was probably used by immigrants to disembark on the island.
Search operations in the wider area were immediately started by the port authorities, but so far no trace of the occupants of the inflatable boat has been found.
It should be noted that according to testimonies reported, in the open sea and south of Gavdos some boats have been located which may be carrying migrants and it is not excluded that they will wait for the right time to disembark in southern Crete.
