Lifeline

Please thank the people that provide the webcams. At this time where most of us are confined to a few square metres and can only go out for short time these views of paradise are a great boost to my days.
Once all this is over, which it will be I hope soon, it will be wonderful to come back and see these views again for real.
This will be the first time for 24 years that I haven't been able to plan a trip to Crete and it is a delight to still be able to see some of the sunshine.

My thought too, very much appreciated.

I was wondering this morning if we should start a competition to see who can correctly predict where, on the beach, the parasol base will turn up next :)

Why not. Would give us something to do during this period of being locked in and unable to leave our homes (in France).
Maybe it's a bit too much to ask under the circumstances, but it would be nice if the harbour web can was back in action.
Most probably, the owners have much more important and perhaps worrying things to do than to scramble up on the roof to fix the webcam. Maybe a little miracle will happen one day. Let's hope.

When I contacted them about this at the end of last year, they said they need to buy a new webcam, so who knows when that will be possible.

The beach camera, and Jean Bienvenue's photos will have to sustain us all in the meantime - and they are definitely food for the soul!

Went to donate some cash to the webcam but the donate site is in Dutch and the other confusing issue is the comma is used in the continental way instead of the period or full stop as a value separator so 10 euros shows as 10,00 Euros which will deter some people from the UK and or the US
