Don't shoot me for the comment - there is good meaning behind it. Is a small drop in Cretan tourism numbers not a good thing? I can only speak for the Sfakia region, as I know it well (since 2000), but I'm sure I'm not the only one who has seen a huge growth in visitors, especially to Hora Sfakia po...

Ok maybe not exclusive to Sfakia, but a woman from Crete has won one of the most prestigious TV shows in the UK. It's a cookery competition watched by millions here.

You know things are crazy when in late December, Sfakia looks more like Scotland and Scotland looks more like Sfakia!! Beautiful weather here.....and weirdly warm too. Best Wishes. Chris

For the best pastry and sweet desserts, can you find better than Sifi Bolitis's at Ammos Apartments in Frango? His desserts are the best I have ever tasted.
Worth a visit.
