I want to hike to the top of the summit this summer. Can someone explain to me the logistics? I have found a few websites with some information. I only want to make it a day trip, nothing overnight. Does that require someone drive me to the summit? What is the weather in late August?

From reading this thread I have decided I want to do the walk from Agios Ioannis down to Agios Pavlos, then Agia Roumeli, and ferry back to Hora Sfakion. I see Google Maps has this path mapped, but is it difficult to know where to go, or is it clear? I am also interested in doing Aradena gorge again...

Has anyone walked the Skaloti gorge? I downloaded the KML but am unsure of where it starts, or how to get there. It looks like I could go from Kallikratis. As with any gorge, I always have trouble planning how I would get back to my starting point to get my car.
