I'm back in the UK as of last night but had been in Sfakia for a few days, couldn't believe just how warm it got on Wednesday. I walked down the Aradena Gorge which was very pleasant but the coastal path to Loutro was a different matter. Not for the first time on that stretch I was grateful for the ...

Road to Sougia was open a fortnight ago - just be aware that there are sections where it has been partially washed out or landslides have covered and only half the road is passable. Don't expect any warning signs or contraflow traffic lights - a single traffic cone or a milk crate are more likely :)...

Years ago you just had to fill out a form that was given to you on the flight out with just basic information - your name, the name of the accommodation you were staying at and the length of stay.

George Pyschoundakis house in Asi Gonia is now the Cretan Runner museum - though sadly it was closed the day we passed through this summer. There is a Facebook page which gives more information.
