This Brit is hoping to come. Flights have been booked since last year - if they're cancelled we'll just have to (try to) grin and bear it. Nothing we can do to alter the situation. Last year we managed to get out in October and felt welcome in each of our stopping places (we walk from point to point...

Thanks for posting this.
Looking at the Englsih version I was briefly surprised by the advertised journey from Sfakia to Bathroom before remembering my Greek classes of yore
Let's hope some/many/all of us have the chance of visiting Crete later this year.

This year we had a flight booked for June and after two cancellations managed to get to Crete in October (have been home for 36 hours). In 2021 we hope to be back in June.

Thanks, Mike - interesting to read. We arrive Chania this coming Saturday evening - a trip twice postponed from early June - and will be heading to first to Sfakia then westward. Looking forward to seeing the countryside at a very different time of year from normal; not so much looking forward to da...

Thank you, that's really helpful. We'll be travelling from the UK in long trousers and fleece jackets with rain jackets in our rucksacks - whatever the weather in Crete, I'm sure we'll need these clothes on the journey to the airport! - but from what you say we may be able to pack them away for the ...

We haven't visited Crete in October for about 25 years but after two postponements (forced flight changes) during the summer we're now hoping to come in 10 days time. We'd be very grateful to hear from October regulars what weather to expect - we're walkers rather than beach people and will be equip...

From my own experience completing the form (but not yet having travelled) and that of my British brother and his Cretan wife who travelled last week, based on UK departure from Manchester to Heraklion: - the middle initial/name. The form asks for a middle initial not name. Fill in the box (which wil...

I've only seen the start of the descent into Tripiti from above, where the E4 leaves the Gingilos col and turns west. It looks terrifying - steep, slippery scree!
Kiki's suggestion to try the Levka Ori forum is a good one, as Simon (who runs that site) is very familiar with the route.

I'd suggest asking around at Ag Ioannis for a potential companion. Even though I've done this walk both up and down a number of times (often without seeing another soul away from the coast path) I'd be wary about walking alone - as Jean suggests, there probably won't be many other walkers around at ...
