Re: Damaged NEN ferry in Agia Roumeli

Hello Jean re Apollon the wreck. I returned yesterday after three weeks in Agia Roumeli. Wonderful weather: wonderful time. I have several photos of the wrecked boat which I cannot post on this site. She lies tied to the quay, sunken resting on the rocks. There have been local protests against NEN, ...

Re: What happend to this forum?

Totally agree, Robert
Seems to me that Erno who used to manage the Forum and the Sfakia site has gone awol.
There have been no announcements of change.
Looks like we shall see this forum wither slowly into disuse.
Very sad but it comes to all things ....

Re: The residents of Agía Rouméli want a street...

Unlike Agía Rouméli, the inhabitants of Loutro do not want to be a road and continue to fight today. [color=#4000FF]This may well be true but Sfakia is only a 5 minute boat ride away in an emergemcy and I have also seen people evacuated by walking over the hill to Phoenix and on to the dirt road, I...

Re: Where is everybody?

[b]Great to see some activity again as we approach Spring and the return of flights to Chania from Manchester. We are booked into Tarra {Agia Roumeli) for 3 weeks from 14 June 2022. Just ask Andrea [Where's Alan?]. I'm pseudononymous on Fora and the Social Media. and I'll be delighted to share a bee...

Re: Where is everybody?

What if you are not in the EU? This may help, Greece (like all EU countries) accepts the NHS Covid Pass as proof of vaccination and/or recovery from Covid, along with Scotland's NHS Covid Status Pass or Northern Ireland's COVIDCert NI app. These can be presented either in digital form on a phone, o...

Where is everybody?

Saw this in Ekathimerini. Greece is scrapping the requirement for vaccinated incoming travelers to present a Covid-19 test on arrival as of Monday (Feb. 7), Health Minister Thanos Plevris announced Friday. Arriving tourists will instead have to produce a valid EU digital vaccination pass to enter t...

Re: Wonderful documentary about Sfakia in first international screening at RAI 3

Thank you, Erno,
Yes..an inspiring and lovely film...so many memories reawakened!
Despite having no Italian I was lulled by the mellifluous delivery of the presenter.
Would that the BBC would buy it & provide an English commentary?
A great ad for Sfakia.
Thanks again

Re: The Crete of R.M. Dawkins (1903-1919)

Hi Erno, and a Happy New Year This is a fascinating document and will afford me much pleasure during yet another UK lockdown. That's 2 triumphs for Oxford this winter// (tu) I first visited Crete in 1961 and largely covered the northern coast from "Candia" to Agios Nikolaos having hitched ...
