Hello everyone,
We were pleased to hear Jean that you appreciated our observations of the area. So glad to give something back in return after all of your reports over the years.
It is thanks to you that we are writing this reports as you asked that anyone who is in the area to write about anything (small or big things), for people to read and enjoy, who are not in Sfakia at present.
Last evening we ate dinner at the Samaria/Livikon restaurant, and after dinner we asked if it was possible for us to see room nr 22 in Livikon, where we stayed in October 2018, and to see one of the rooms in Samaria. A good job has been done by the crew in such a short time.
Today we asked Giannis at Lefka Ori if we could see the two new rooms they are building, which will hopefully be completed in 7-10 days. They are very tastefully finished with a mixture of old and new touches, with a very large terrace which is shared by both rooms.
The new balcony extensions at Xenia are not yet completed and works seem to have stopped for the time being, as the rooms now seem to be occupied.
We now know where Lefka Ori keep the lobsters, they are in a large cage which is lowered in to see outside their restaurant from the harbor wall. The young waiter Adonis has the duty of taking up a number of them every morning to put on display and return those which are not eaten, back to their cage each evening.
Today we took a short boat trip to Loutro and had a nice breakfast and a swim, and when we came back we drove to Vatalos to have an afternoon swim and discovered that the sandy beach we knew was now a stone bottom, after the hard winter. We were very surprised what nature can do. So we took a swim at Frangocastello instead and meet three nice women from the very north of Norge, Tromsö.
Bye for now and best regards
Marie and Andrew
