Hello,
Sorry could not manage to send any photos of the last report we sent on Sunday, our son could not help us over the phone how to make image smaller. We will sort out when we come home.
On Sunday we arrived to Aradena just in time to the first bungy jump. The jump was successful apart from the fact that they could not winch him up, so the poor young man was hanging in his harness for about 20 minutes, half way between the bridge and the bottom of the gorge until they got him up. After that every jump went smoothly.
The last two days have been quite windy but this morning was calm and still but now the wind has returned. It is hot and nice in the sun though.
Yesterday we went to Frangocastello for a nice swim and we realized when we were driving past, that the restaurant The Drousilites opposite the castle had changed name to Nikita's, and when we were there today again we spoke to the new owners, who are Koundourakis family who also have the big restaurant in Argyroupoli on the north half not long from Kournas Lake and Episkopi. And that restaurant we can recommend so we wish them luck in there new venture.
When we came back yesterday afternoon we took refreshments at Georgias Kantina, at the table next to us Georgia made around 40 Sfakia pies in no time at all, which she promptly put in boxes and then in to the fridge. Daskalogiannis arrived as we sat there and it was many tuirists and walkers. We could see most of them had trekked The Samaria Gorge. As they went up the steps we thought to ourselves they know nothing about the dramatic scenes which had taken place during this last winter.
This morning we saw the boat Neptune arrived to the old harbour, Stavros from Faros Cafe assisted with the ropes. The Nen Kritis ferryboat is also running now, so there is plenty of boat activity in both harbours now.
Bye for now and best regards
Marie and Andrew
