University of Manchester Fieldwork

by coopsd » 16 Apr 2019, 08:40

Hi,
I'm Sean and am currently studying at the University of Manchester and will be coming to Sfakia to conduct some research on changes in patterns of tourism with my group partner Luke. We are primarily looking for returning tourists as our interviewees. This will involve an interview with both open and closed questions which will take no longer than 30 minutes to conduct. Please reply to us so we can organize an interview as this will be a major component of our research. We will be visiting Sfakia from the 30th of April to the 6th of May.

Thank you,
Sean

Dear Sean and Luke, Please be warned that the local people here in Chora Sfakion have really had enough of answering questions from young British people about "austerity". Tourists will probably be less unhappy.
Good luck with your trip.
Peter

Thank you for the reply Peter. Yes, we understand that it is a sensitive topic in regards of locals, therefore we are mainly looking for returning tourists as they may have noticed a change in their years of visiting Sfakia.
Thanks,
Sean

Hi Sean,

So your research topic has changed from Austerity to Changes in patterns of tourism.

Are you looking to interview regular visitors to Sfakia while they are in Sfakia AND while you are in Sfakia?
All the best,

OK, so you are looking for:

1) returning visitors to Sfakia who are there between 30th of April and the 6th of May, 2019
2) and are willing to be interviewed with both open and closed questions, which will take no longer than 30 minutes to conduct
3) regarding Changes in patterns of tourism

What do you suggest they do, in order to participate?
All the best,

Erno
