This forum is now on a secure website - 22 November, 2017
Today the Sfakia forum has moved to a secure website. It uses a secure, encrypted connection between your browser and the forum itself, using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer).
You will be automatically redirected to the new location, but from now the address is:
The address bar in your browser will have a green lock sign in front of the address, like this:
SSL is an encryption technology that encrypts the connection between your web browser and the webserver of a website, like this forum. It protects your sensitive data as it travels across the internet. If you’ve ever visited a website using https:// in the address bar, you were on a secure SSL connection.
SSL sends information across the internet encrypted so that only the intended recipient can understand it. SSL establishes a secure connection between your browser and a website. It allows you to send private and sensitive information, such as payment credentials, (reservation and email) form data, your email address, your password, your forum's posts, and your private messages here, across the internet without having to worry about the problems of eavesdropping, data tampering, and message forgery.
SSL also protects against phishing. Phishing e-mails usually contain a link to the criminals website, by impersonating a website. When using SSL it’s practically impossible for them to impersonate a site perfectly.
In the past days I also have moved these websites about Sfakia to a secure website:
Also 5 Sfakia hotel and car hire websites have been moved to https://
