From 2016 to 2017: Domestic arrivals 0.9% down, international arrivals 6.8% up, average 4.7% up.

A reduction in passenger traffic was recorded in October 2017 at Chania Airport, according to statistics released by Fraport. In fact, "Daskalogiannis" is the only one of the 14 regional airports managed by the German consortium, where travelers were less compared to the previous year.

More specifically, last October, we had 70,830 domestic passengers in Daskalogiannis, compared with 71,903 in the corresponding month of 2016. Decline was also recorded for foreign passengers as they "fell" from 219,025 to 218,025.

Interestingly, we look forward statistics for the current month of November, as it will show the impact of the interruption of Ryanair routes to and from Chania.

OTHER AIRPORTS

Different is the image at the other airports managed by Fraport in Greece. According to figures released by the German consortium in October, Aktio recorded an increase in passenger traffic by 11.1%, in Zakynthos by 30.4%, in Thessaloniki by 9.7%, in Kavala by 20%, in Corfu 2.5%, Kefalonia 54.1%, Kos 36.8%, Mytilini 11.9%, Mykonos 51.3%, Rhodes 12%, Samos 1.9%, Santorini 29.8% % and in Skiathos 29.5%.
