When are you coming to Crete (again) in 2021?

Dear Crete-lovers,

The 2020 season is slowly coming to an end, although some hotels and restaurants will stay open longer than usual in November, as long as the extended flights season is going on, and people will arrive.

This year has been the most difficult season ever, due to Covid-19. The complete start had to be cancelled until 1st July, and cancellations kept coming in for the rest. Many people had to even cancel their re-booked holidays, and most regular customers were not willing or able to come at all.

We all do not know how the 2021 season will look like, and if and when it will start. Nevertheless it is always possible to make plans!

In 2021, Catholic and Protestant Easter Sunday is on the 4th of April (Greek Orthodox Easter Sunday on the 2nd May), so most hotels and restaurants will plan to open end of March.

This year we had a flight booked for June and after two cancellations managed to get to Crete in October (have been home for 36 hours). In 2021 we hope to be back in June.

Had to cancel my plans for a trip to Crete in April this year so I hope to try again in 2021! I am looking at May/June but who knows if I will actually make it . . .

I have a flight booked for May 2021. My visit in Sept 2020 was OK, as it was before the anticipated autumn covid surge.

But, who can say what will happen in the next 3 months? Wait and see when the time comes. I have 3 weeks booked and, as of now, changing flights to extend my stay to 4 weeks would cost me only €20-30 or so. It's not even a minor financial risk, so I'm considering the gamble.
