A new path will be investigated for the missing Pole near Tripiti - 20 April, 2019

It may be official (due to the passing of the three times 24-hours search period stipulated by the law) that the investigations have been interrupted, in fact they are continued by the Anopoli Fire Brigade, the Sfakia police and volunteers.

Today, the search teams are taking a break for rest and from early Sunday morning two firefighters from the Anopoli fire station headed by Stavros Pimakis, the Commander of the Chora Sfakion Police Station and a group of volunteers will explore a path that has not been investigated yet by a hiker team.

It is a trail whose trace is parallel to the gorge of Trypiti but slightly higher and ends at the top of Gingilos.

This path was investigated by air with the army's helicopter without effect, but there will be another attempt for ground-based research.

Search will continue Monday to locate the Pole - 21 April, 2019

The investigations were about to start again today, but the weather was a problem, so they will start again from Monday morning.

Volunteers and firefighters reportedly will arrive at Xyloskalo tomorrow morning, where they will comb the area, split into two groups to explore the area from one side to the other. It is the path that has not been investigated by a hiking team so far, whose alignment is parallel to the gorge of Trypiti but slightly higher and ends at the top of Gingilos.

Hi Erno, Thinking about the dissapearance of the Polish walker I was just wondering whether the 'Strava heatmap' would be any help to the searchers. It appears that it is updated every month so a view of it before April & after when April is updated may show an extra track?????????????? I know it is a very long shot & it appears the tracks are not all that good in gorges!!!
