Re: Sfakia report, October 14th

13 deaths from severe flooding caused by major storms and high temperatures in southern France.
Regions have been declared disaster areas.
Personally, I think it's mother nature just trying to tell us that we have to slow down with the pollution we are causing from our way of life ..... no?

Re: Sfakia report, October 14th

Same situation in southern France. The weather is "strange" for this time of the year. Temperatures are very high with heavy storms that are causing severe flooding and unfortunately, some deaths.
Question ??? is it "strange" ? or is it just nature showing us that she is the boss?

Re: Sfakia beach webcam stuck

Agreed. I can't make it to Sfakia this year either due to health problems in our family. I NEED the daily view the camera gives to keeps me in touch with Sfakia and the sea. It's the best I can do to help my depression whilst being stuck in northern Europe. The harbour camera helps me a lot. It has ...

Nice to see the respect given to the village and its people. May the village and its martyrs never be forgotten and may the future generations honor and respect the eternal memory it deserves.

Re: Winter from Wednesday in Crete

From the webcam on the harbour in Sfakia, looks like there is very rough weather happening at sea. The small boats in the harbour in Sfakia seem to have been put on dry land. Hope things settle down and life gets back to normal quickly.

Re: Neptune

Nice to see the "old lady" back in action and doing her job to help locals and holiday makers on the south coast of Crete. Long live Neptune.

Re: An uncontrolled fire threatens homes in Vrysses

Here in France, our thoughts are with you and especially the people who are in danger.
Unfortunately, there is very little we can do because of the distance but we are thinking of you and hope that life will get back to normal very quickly.

Re: Samaria Gorge opens on 1st May, if weather permits

A question ??? I've seen from looking at the horbour webcam each day that for a couple of weeks a small, covered, passenger boat than comes and goes into the old harbour. You can see the small boat in the last photo of the above report. Is this a tempory boat that is doing the work of the Neptune un...
